A private investments hedge fund, Princeford Capital LLC is run by Russell Glass, a protégé of Carl Ichan. The fund invests in distressed debts acquisitions, and company that are severely undervalued with various assets in different sectors. Glass, an undergraduate of Princeton University and graduate of Stanford Business School, thus deriving the name of the firm, help Jerry Jones buy the amazingly undervalued Dallas Cowboys back in 1989 for a mere $140 million. The team is now worth $2.1 billion. “Carl’s been a mentor to me in recognizing that being a value investor can also mean being a proactive shareholder,” said Glass. He is also a director of the A.G. Spanos Companies, the real estate firm that owns the San Diego Chargers NFL team, as well as recently purchasing a minority stake in the New York Mets MLB team.
